Before beginning their journey opening Carter Barnes, Carey and his partners worked for L’oreal for twenty five years promoting and testing new products, as well as lecturing and teaching new product development. They have done shows for Vera Wang, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karen, and Calvin Klein. Additionally, Carter Barnes regularly works with the Savannah College of Art and Design on many projects and has done all shows for the Atlanta Apparel Mart for 20 years.
Carey has co-chaired for many charity events over the years including: Jeffrey Fashion Cares, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer, Project Open Hand, Unicef, DIFFA, The Lyric Theater, and Murphy Harpst. Carey is much admired for his extensive philanthropic work in association with abused and foster children, and was awarded the 2009 Community Service Award by WXIA channel 11.

Mitchell has worked with top fashion and beauty leaders representing L’Oreal in Europe and across the U.S. He has created styles for Vogue, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and television. Perri was born in Sydney, Australia; she came to the United States in 1984 as a color specialist for the “Salon Professional Division” of “L’Oreal of Paris”. Perri is a co-owner of Carter Barnes and the color specialist at the Phipps Plaza location.
She taught hair color for 19 years in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and all over the US. Her reputation as one of Australia’s top colorists was noticed by L’Oreal U.S.A. and she was transferred by the Paris based company. Perri specializes in all areas of hair color to suit each individual client’s needs- including corrective color. Over the years she has colored the hair of Hollywood stars whilst on location in Atlanta, to name a few, Kevin Spacey, Kevin Kline, Kathy Bates, May Elizabeth Mastroantonia, and more. Her belief has always been, “A women’s hair color is the primary accessory to her style and personality.”
